Using up scraps - the Messy way

You might have noticed that I've been recently quite ... erm... fond (read: blindingly obsessed) of MME Quite Contrary Little Boy Blue collection. As a result I had loads of wee offcuts and pieces of said papers which I could not bring myself to throw away. Which is usually not me AT ALL. I'm one of those blasphemous crafters who actually sends small scraps to circular file and bigger ones to my kids play school or craft box. Cause I KNOW I won't use them and storage space is at premium in my craft area.
But those gorgeous wee bits were just sitting there, daunting me.  So I grabbed my old Woodware punch and reduced them devils into loads of little squares. I then stuck them onto a cardstock to make a patchwork panel, colored in a cute image from Phindy (really lovely and easy to color) and made a simple(ish) Thank You card. Because I never have one when I need it.
My initial idea was, of course, to throw together a quick little card. But let me tell you, sticking about gazillion of little squares is not as fast as you might think, lol.
Then I had to sit and procrastinate about "what else to do with it". I couldn't just leave it clean and simple (gasp!). Well, the problem was solved by making another one of my fave dirt-cheap-and-real-easy-to-make lace flowers, MS grass punch, EK Success punch, a bit of green twill ribbon and some Prima Swirls, lol.
The image is colored with Copics and some TINY traces of Flower Soft added as well. I then cut out three panels with my Nesties and made a little "book" with a help of Scor-It. The sentiment stamp is from WOJ.
The result is quite fun and a lot nicer in real life than on my crappy pictures!
Don't forget you have still plenty of time before Friday to enter the challenge at Phindy's Place. You just have to use flowers on your card ... how easy is that!!!
I would like to enter this card into following challenges:
Creative Craft - Bloomin' Marvelous
Creative Card Crew - April Showers Bring May Flowers
Whoopsi-Daisy - As you like it
Fab 'N' Funky - Fancy Edge
Paper Play - Digi and Bling
Dare U 2 Digi Stamp - Anything Goes
The Crafty Pad - Use a Punch

Thanks for looking and happy crafting!
Hugs

Annika, your background is beautiful! Love the way you used up your scraps. But boy...the background is nothing to your coloring skills. The images is colored amazingly beautiful and I love how your girl's head is peaking out of your Nestabilities layer.
