Ooohhh...meloves me some steampunk!

To celebrate the release of 4 new steampunk images the new challenge at Kenny K Krafty Girlz today is METAL EMBELLISHMENTS.

Our sponsors are - Bearly Mine Designs (2 Digi sets of winner's choice)
Kenny K - 5 Digi's of the Winner's Choice

I chose Scarlett West for my card and I coloured her with Copic markers exlusively for a change. :) I did add some accents with Sakura gel and Stardust pens but those do not count as colouring. At least in my little twisted world they don't, lol
The sentiment is from Whimsy Film Strip Sentiments and is cut out with a matching die. The idea to stamp it on acetate is shamelessly nicked from Ann.
I used Fancy Ribbon Sliders and Gears Galore laser cut chipboard by Make It Crafty, giving it a good coating of metallic rub-ons.
I also tore a strip of cork board for added texture and used loads of metal flowers (LOVING them atm) and brads to make sure I totally adhere to the challenge as I've been cheating a lot lately...
Challenges:
Alphabet Challenge - 1E, JFF - M is for metal
Glitter Geeks - 2E, C10 - rock and roll
Totally Papercrafts - bling
Aud Sentiments Challenge - 2W - anything that will make someone smile/enjoy your day
Stampin' B's - JFF - use ribbon
Crafts and Me - #45 ribbon
7 Kids College Fund - 2W, 3E - texture (2nd wk)

Simon Says Stamp and Show... - Anything goes
Victorine Originals - 2W, SIO - 2nd week - Bling
Totally Papercrafts - bling
4 Crafty Chicks - bling

Thanks a million for popping by!

For my card I chose Spy Chick by Kenny K and a sentiment from Vintage Transportation set.

I also used new Elegant Flourishes Dies set - cut them out from the designer paper and rubbed on some metallic rub-ons with my finger.
The image is coloured with Copic markers and some accents added with Sakura white gel pen and gold Stardust pen.
The papers are from Crate Paper School Spirit pad - I know the the card doesn't have anything to do with school but the colours and patterns were exactly what I wanted :)
The cogwheel and filigree jewels are laser cut chipboard by Make It Crafty. I used metallic rub-ons on jewels/medallions and copper leafing pen on the cogwheel.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. The next stop on the hop is the super talented Iris's Blog. Be sure to pop over and see what she has for you today. And then remember to leave comments and enter for your chance to win the prizes on offer along the hop too!

Kenny K - red, white and blue

It's not an easy colour combo for me but I hope I rose to the current challenge at Kenny K Krafty Girlz. :)
hooray for the red white and blue

Sponsor of the challenge is Crafty Ribbons plus Kenny K offering 5 digi stamps!

Our Guest Designer is Debbie Pamment

And here's my card:
The colouring is pure Copics job - used my fave combo of E000/00/02/21/11/15 on the skin and dark brown for deep shadows in red.
The papers are from Lily Bee and I made the flowers myself. The leaves I just hand-cut from denim scrap which I had previously treated with pearlized acrylic paint. Some edges are treated with dark blue micropearls.
Thank you so much for visiting and happy crafting to you!!

If you are looking for WHIMSY STAMPS new release blog hop and prize draw then you can find my post HERE.

Today there's a real fun and easy challenge at Kenny K-s Krafty Girlz: ANYTHING GOES.
Our Guest Designer is Karla - welcome!

The digi I am using is called Strong Island.

Sponsors are - Michelle's Scrapbooking Store
 - offering $15 gift certificate to her store as well as Kenny offering 5 digi's of the winner's choice.

The image is coloured with Copic markers - nothing else in sight. I didn't  write down the colours though - sorry!!
The denim flowers I made myself from my toddlers ripped jeans which I had to turn into shorts. You know, with a scissors. :) Suddenly I had these bits of denim fabric I was reluctant to toss. All it took was some cord, scissors and glue gun and voila - cute flowers!

Oh, and the paper is Little Yellow bicycle Twig which I ADORE!

Tutorial: colouring tousled dark reddish brown hair

Here is my next tutorial coloring Kitty Katastrophe. I am colouring a rubber stamp from Whimsy Stamps but there's also digi version available from Kenny K Downloads.
The markers I am using are YR14, E59/19/08. The paper is a marker blending card from Make It Crafty, takes a lot of abuse, that stuff!!

You can watch it on Youtube HERE.

Next week I will have a little tutorial on colouring her clothing and boots.

Thanks a million for dropping by!

Here's a secret - I just can't do pink

First of all - happy Mother's Day to all who are celebrating today!

I struggle every single time with pink - especially if Copics are involved. Somehow it's very hard to achieve a good pink with those for me.

But the challenge at Kenny K-s Krafty Girlz is Pretty In Pink so I had another go. And no, not happy with the result.
The challenge sponsor is Wild Orchid crafts with a huge and very yummy prize
and also 5 digis from Kenny K Downloads.

Our guest designer this week is Debbie Lanci.

I am using Super Mom from the new release of images -  was kinda sneaky and did a very pink card with very little of pink on image itself, lol.
I was trying to give her honey blonde hair and it actually came out pretty well, glad I wrote the combo down! :)
COPICS:
Skin: E50/51/53
Hair: E99, YR24, Y26/32
Blues: B28/25/23/14, BG78
Top: R05/02/01, N3/5

Thank you so much for looking and happy crafting!

Tutorial: Colouring Facial Features With Copic Markers

I finally managed to put together a video tutorial and as colouring face was one of popular requests I started there. I am still learning and struggling with video editing so be merciful.

I am using Kenny K rubber stamp Kitty Katastrophe from Whimsy Stamps  and marker blending paper from Make It Crafty.

DISCLAIMER:
1) I am NO expert. Don't even have Copic certification and can't get certified here in Ireland either, as far as I know.
2) I do have strong accent and poor-ish English. Brace yourselves.
3) I'm a waffler. 'Nuf said.

First video requires following markers:
E13/11/01/00/000/0000 (the last one is optional)

You can watch it on Youtube HERE - the quality options are better there.

The second video is a very short one on colouring eyes and lips. It was originally part of the first one and butchered in editing to ultra short. It's thus fairly useless but I just didn't have time to re-edit. :( I'll plan things better next time (well, I hope to).

You will need B02/05 and R12/14/39

You can watch it on Youtube HERE - the quality options are better there.

I hope you find them useful. Let me know if you have any tips for future.

And just a little reminder - I don't have a card today but Kenny K Krafty Girlz has a new challenge today - there's a new release and fab prizes to boot!

Thanks for dropping by!!
Hugs

Kenny K challenge and a question regarding tutorials you'd like to see

I am so sorry I haven't been commenting much - I do stalk your blogs but the keyboard of my laptop is totally loose after my youngest had a go at it and typing is a major challenge since the keys keep flying off. The courier was supposed to have picked it up on WEDNESDAY to take it to the manufacturer for repairs - still no cigar! grrrrrrr

This week's challenge at Kenny K Krafty Girlz is a very simple recipe:
3 DP, 2 ribbons, 1 image

Sponsors for this challenge are Fantastic Ribbons - offering 4 rolls of ribbon of the winner's choice

and Kenny is offering 5 digi's of the winner's choice.

We also have a mega-talented guest designer joining us - Joe-Anne Farnsworth.
I love Kenny K-s male images - I think those were the first ones of his I seriously coveted. And to give them even more credit - even my husband likes that card - and that's sayin' something! lol
The image is coloured with Copics - no list though, cause I never wrote anything down...
The papers are from OA, distressed and treated with texture paint.
And now to my question -  I just recently got a camcorder (woo-hoooo!) and am finally planning to start dishing out proper tutorials since so many people have asked for those. I need you to tell me which ones would you mostly be interested in though:
Copic colouring or Prismacolor pencils (I am not particularly savvy with inks and watercolours but if you want I can share the little I know about those too)
Backgrounds (skies, clouds, ground, basic shadows, abstract backgrounds, dotted backgrounds)
People (facial features, skin in general, hair, clothing, pleats, textured materials)
Good colour combinations and basic blending
Prismas on kraft
Prismas on Copics
etc.

If you have any requests and wishes just leave them in comments and I'll put them onto my to-do list. Your input would really help me to get my act together.

Challenges
Tellen's Place -  sports
Bronte and Bella's Challenge - Let's Hear it for The Boys
Freshly Brewed -  Spots and dots
Paper Pretties - masculine
Simon Says Stamp - Happy Birthday
Going Grey With Scrap-Creations -  Anything Goes
Top Tip Tuesday - Birthday
Incy Wincy Designs - for the boys
Ooh La La Creations - It's a man thing
Nettie G's Digital Gems - use 5 papers (at least 3 patterned, 1 solid) - I used 3 patterned, blue and white solid

Thank you so much for coming to see me! :)
Hugs
