Stampin' For The Weekend - Back To School

I know the challenge at SFTW is BACK to school but I cheated a little because it's actually a teacher retirement card but hey, it's school themed!! I just don't have anybody to give back to school card to and this one was commissioned (a rare thing!) so...

It's a trifold book fold (because of the bulk of embellies) card my friend asked me to make for her colleague's retirement. The images are printed on pearlescent card, hear embossed and coloured with Copic Markers and Distress Inks (backgrounds).

Here is the front panel:

Inside panel:

And that's how the card looks:

The only guidelines I got was that she loved teal and "put a child, something school themed and LOTS of flowers on it". Well. I'm not happy at all with the card but the recipient sure was so I guess I got it right.

No Copic colours today, I was way too frazzled when making it to actually write down everything! lol

Loadsa hugs and be sure to check out the work of our fab DT!

I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Crafty Pad - Ribbons & Flowers
Paper Sundaes - Stitching
ABC Challenge Blog - A is for August
Fresh Brewed Challenges - Give Thanks

Be back later with another card so stay tuned! :)

Fantastic card Annika and of course the recipient loved it, it's beutiful! Your colouring is gorgeous, I bet the pearly card gives a lovely shimmer to the colours and your embellishments are so pretty, great buttons too. Have a good weekend, Chris xx

Annika - I love this (you're too hard on yourself!!!). Love the teal and mustard colour combo, beautiful flowers (primas?) and lovely sentiments, enough to make a retiring teacher cry!!!!

P.S. The doily on my card you were asking about - it was just a regular small doily, a friend got a bag of them in Musgraves and gave me a few, but I cut the outer layers off, 'cos it was too big for my card.
