Going back to my roots :)

Hi all and a happy Tuesday! :)

I haven't played around with flower clusters for a while and I thought this cute summery donkey would be a perfect character to drown in blooms. :)

This image is available from Stampavie blog to support and encourage Michelle who recently lost her eye in farm accident. There is a card drive going on for her at A Spoon Full Of Sugar blog.

I coloured my donkey in with Copic markers and sponged the edges slightly with Memento Desert Sand ink. The image and mat were cut out with Nestabilities deckled rectangles.
The papers are from Fancy Pants, embossed with a Sizzix folder and lightly sponged with white ink. Corrugated cardboard came with some packaging, I painted it with Tim Holtz crackle paint in Picket Fence and covered in white netting from my stash.

The sentiment is a rub-on from my stash, little roses are from Prima, the rest of the flowers from my stash. That lovely lacy border under the cardboard is a fabric sticker I got from my lovely friend Viv as a RAK. I have been blessed immensely with amazing, talented and kind people around me here in blogland.

COPIC COLOURS:
Donkey: E29/37/15/99/97/35/33/41/13//30/11

Sentimental Sundays - I can see clearly now

Our challenge at Sentimental Sundays this week is to create a project with a clear element on it.

I had a go at making a diorama box. Sorry for bad photos, it's been very dark and rainy here for couple of days. :(

The whole top layer of the box is a damask printed transparency. Measurements of the bottom layer are 6x7 inches, I cut the transparency to 6x9 inches and scored at 1", 2", 7" and 8". Good thing I have a Scor-It cause let me tell you, that is one heavy-weight acetate! NOTHING else would work!

The "window" was cut with Nestabilities labels and edged with bronze leafing pen which does NOT show well on photos :(

The image is Melinda With Bouquet from Whiff Of Joy, stamped in brown Versafine ink and coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils and water using very muted and almost dirty colour scheme. The oval frame behind Melinda is a stamp I found in my drawr, no idea where it's from. I just masked Melinda, stamped the frame behind her. The mat was cut with Nesties labels again and embossed with Kassie's Brocade 5x7 Cuttlebug folder.

I ruffled the ribbon slightly to form a "seat" for the image and placed Prima flowers all around it.

To finish off the box I trimmed the sides with cream and chocolate satin ribbons and stuck on some Dew Drops.

Head over to Sentimental Sundays blog, get your fill of gorgeous work of DT and get your project started. The prize is a digital sentiment set of four sentiments of your choosing or two sentiment sets from the Raindrop Echo Designs Whimsy Stamps Sentiments Collection.

I'd like to enter following challenges:
Little Red Wagon - Nestabilities
Create 4 Fun - anything but card
Secret Crafter - apertures
Hanna and Friends - Unused Stamps
Sweet Stamping - things with wings

Thanks for looking and happy crafting!

Phindy's Challenge - Embossing

This is my second post today, please scroll down for Stamp Something challenge card.

Hi, it's Friday and Phindy time! And we want to see embossing on your Phindylicious pojects!

I used one of Phindy's delicious Summer Cuties. She was printed on Neenah card and coloured with Copic markers, then I added background and grass with Prismacolour pencils.

The papers are from Websters Pages, all edges dabbed with glue and heat embossed with white glittery embossing powder, similar to this one here. I also got some yummy Sizzix die cuts from my friend Tara, dabbed them with Versamark pad and embossed with the same embossing powder. I embossed all the papers with Sizzix texture plate and a Cuttlebug folder.

That gorgeous rosy trim is from Websters Pages as well, ribbon and lace are from my stash. The sentiment is a Kaiser Craft rub-on and I added some Dew Drops as finishing touches.

COPICS:
Skin: E21/00/000
Dungarees: R02/00/0000, W3, YG95, G82, YG00, YG0000

Branch & bird: E37/33, W5/3/1, BG0000
Sky, ground: Prismacolour pencils with odourless mineral spirit

Stamp Something - Recipe

This week we have a very simple recipe for you at Stamp Something.
1 image

Embellish as you wish

Our sponsor is One Stop Craft Challenge.

That recipe just spelled "a boy card" to me.

I stamped that cute soccer boy from Whimsy Stamps on cold press watercolour paper and coloured in with Derwent Inktense pencils and water. Designer paper is from MME, distressed with Tim Holtz distressing tool.

The mat under image was embossed with Cuttlebug folder, netting, ric-rac twill, twine and button from my stash. The sickers are from Making Memories and Jillybean Soup

A card drive for Michelle

I am sure a lot of you know and follow the wonderful blog by Michelle Oatman called Donkey Smiles. Her work is absolutely amazing and her spirit bright and uplifting.

Recently she had an accident on her farm resulting in loss of one of her eyes - read about it HERE. She will have a long and difficult road for recovery ahead of her, amongst other things it's also quite an expensive journey. :(

A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge blog is organizing a card drive for Michelle, maybe to bring some smiles into her no doubt quite rough days and gather some donations to help Michelle with her medical expenses.

Whimsy Stamps has a gorgeous donkey freebie from Melissa Jenkins with a set of sentiments by Ann Vento for download on their site. If you have any time to spare, please consider popping over there, downloading it and making a card for Michelle, details about where to send it can be found HERE.

My card for Michelle:

The colouring is all done with Copics, including the background. I added some yummy transluscent glitter to details using the glue pen. Makes glittering a breeze, that. Matting for the image was creating using Nestabilities circles and labels dies. Card box is made using Martha Stewart scoring board - it has the envelope making attachment!

The papers are from Websters Pages, distressed with Tim Holtz distressing tool. I would LOVE to have that yoke but alas ... craft spending embargo, aaarrrggghhh!! Then I ran background through Big Shot with a Sizzix texture plate.

Ribbon and bakers twine both from my stash, little butterflies are Martha Stewart punch and buttons from my (messy) button box. Both sentiments I created in my 'puter, I wanted to use Ann's ones at first but I was set on my layout and needed something that would fit it, lol.

COPICS:
Donkey: W9/7/5/3/1/00, E37, YR23, Y35, YR31, YR0000, R05/02, YR01, R0000

Pop over to Spoon Full Of Sugar and send some smiles to Michelle!
