Something else to covet..

No card today - because I'm seriously worrying the divorce would be on books if I spent any more time in my Messy Room! lol

But I just had to pop in and let you know that 7 Kids College Fund has now Popcorn The Bear stamps on preorder HERE! I love those to bits and been biting my nails for quite a while (craft shopping embargo, remember? The one I keep breaking and breaking...).

I think I NEED that set!!

I can think of about gazillion of uses for that one, from kids to grownups!

Sentimental Sundays - Celebrate

The challenge is really simple and open to interpretation this time - celebrate!

My card has a bit of a background. Some time ago a wonderful, very funny and talented blogger Marlene asked my opinion as to if colouring with Prismacolours would work well on rough cold press watercolour paper. I said I hadn't really tried it but my curiosity was sparked. I tried Prismas with mineral spirit first but the result was pitifully uneven and "stripy" so I decided to "go rough" and ditch my blending stump altogether. I did all the blending with laying loads of layers with pencils.

The image is a freebie colouring page from Elizabeth Dulemba. As you can see the pigment is laid quite unevenly and it has got caught into the grooves in paper. At the same time it's given kind of cool texture to the image so I'm not sure if I love it or hate it. lol

To keep with the textured and worn feel of colouring I did a lot of distressing with my beloved Cutter Bee Scissors, having before sponged every single piece of paper with Tea Dye, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. And then I smudged loadsa Cinnamon Stickles on as well. Just to keep myself happy.

The horizontal strip at the bottom is a 12 inch wide strip of PP which I fed through my long forgotten paper crimper couple of times and then pleated. The stitching is done with deliberately very thick cord to ad to the torn feel.

The papers are from a very neglected K & Co Saffron pad and swirly clips and twill ribbon both from my bottomless stash. Letter stickers are from Jillybean Soup and Pink Paislee and the crown was originally a silvery charm which I made "golden" with dark yellow Copic marker and added tiny gems with a help from beloved Tombow glue (because it has fine nozzle which NEVER gets clogged. don't ask me how, it just doesn't). I added some pizzazz to the corrugated sticker with metallic rub-ons. Again - just to keep myself happy.

Don't forget to check out the fab work of the Sentimental Sundays DT!!

I'd like to enter following challenges:
A Spoon Full Of Sugar - Animals
Crafty Calendar - Summer
One Stop Craft Challenge - Distressing
Papertake Weekly - stitching

Winner of Isabella's blog hop and excuse me while I do my happy dance

It's been a wonderful hop. Thanks to all you who left the very much appreciated comments and took time to wander around our blogs!

The winner of Isabella's image from my blog is MaryAnne/MA54K!

Congratulations, Mary Anne! Make your way to Isabella's Boutique, pick out your image and send your choice to Isabella (isabellassketchbook@gmail.com). Make sure you put Isabella's Challenges Blog Hop Winner into a subject line.

Don't forget that the challenge is open until next Wednesday and it's Anything Goes!

I have another bit of good news as well - I almost dropped my cup of (HOT) latte onto my lap when I read that I was chosen to be part of 7 Kids College Fund DT!!!

It's a huge compliment to be a part of their absolutely amazing DT, there's so much talent there it's basically bursting at seams!

And if you see something yummy you've GOT to have at 7 Kids College Fund shop, I'd really appreciate if you shopped through me, I'd love to earn some brownie points! lol

Now, that's it from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with quite experimental card. You're either going to love it or hate it. I'm not sure yet which option I'll go for myself.

Big hugs

Stamp Something - colours of your flag

This is my first ever card as a fully fledged member of Stamp Something DT. Am I proud or what!!

To introduce the new DT our challenge this time is to USE COLOURS OF YOUR FLAG.

I am Estonian living in Ireland so it had me stumped for a while, eventually I decided to go with the flag of the country I by now consider to be my home - the orange, green and white of Ireland.

The image is from Hambo Stamps, boy do I love them, real fun and a joy to colour! Colouring was (of course) done by Copics with some added Spica and Sakura glitter accents. Sentiments were computer generated. The background and matting for the image was cut with Nesties Circles and Pinking Circles.

The papers are from Pink Paislee (all slightly sponged with Distress Inks) and glitter strips from Papermania. The image background was embossed with Cuttlebug folder. As a last touch I popped some Card Candy into the corners. It's a simple but bright and fun card - at least in my opinion!! :D

Copics:
Pants and scarf: BG99, G85, YG67, YG63, YG03, YG00
Bag: YG99, YG95, YG94, YG91
Vest, sock, YR18, YR14, YR07, YR04, Y17, Y28

Sword:YR14, YR23, YR17, Y35, YR0000, Y28
Beard: W3/1/00
Wooden leg: E57/35/31/97

Stampin' For The Weekend - Sketch and Christmas in July

It's Christmas In July at Stampin' For The Weekend challenge this Friday - and we also have a great sketch to follow.

Our kind sponsor for this week is Simon Says Stamp.

Here is my little winter-wonderland creation:

The feeling of careless joy oozing from that little skater by Phindy always makes me smile. :)

Colouring is done with Copics and then I added sparkle with 3 different shades of fine glitter. Sparkle-yyy. Luvs it.

The papers are from DCWV Linen Closet stack, combined with fluffy glitter, frilly ribbon from my stash and snowflakes I found floating around in my "Christmas box". The sentiment is from (sadly now closing) Elzybells. I stamped it with white pigment ink and embossed with fine white embossing powder.

Whimsy Stamps July Digi Release Blog Hop

Hi All and welcome to Whimsy July Digital Release Blog Hop!! Be sure to leave a comment at the end of the post because two randomly chosen hoppin' blogs get to give away a Whimisy digi of your choice - plus there's a grand prize of FIVE images!

If you are coming from Melissa's blog, then you're totally on the right track! If you just happened to wander here (woo-hoo, I'm glad to see you!) then you might want to jump back to the start at Whimsy Inspirations Blog to make sure you won't miss out on anything!!

The hop is going to remain open until Wednesday, July 7th.

Now to the reason you're here (hopefully!!lol) - the card. I chose Puss In Boots by Melissa Jenkins for my image, doesn't he look just soooo swanky!!??

The colouring is mainly Copics, did the ground and blue shadow with Derwent Inktense pencils and Sansador. The rest of the background is sponged with Memento Summer Sky and Pear Tart.

The sentiment is from the digital sentiment set matching the image, also now available at Whimsy Stamps.

The papers are a mixture of OA and Websters Pages. All happily sponged with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo Distress Inks, then lightly distressed with scissors.

The kraft photo corners I found in office supplies store, they came in a bag of about gazillion. Ribbon, netting, buttons and twine all from my stash, the only other thing I used was some Dew Drops.

Copics:
Puss: E:49/29/99/97/13/24/, YR12, Y12YR18/02/82
Boots: R59/37/17/05/14//22/02, W7/5/3
