2 Sketches 4 U - Lauras Sketch 22

I have to admit I am officially addicted to 2S4U... They make the most gorgeous setches and DT is soo talented and versatile, makes me all humble about me modest abilities :D

Loved Lauras sketch, it could be used in many different ways. I'm in paper-piecing mode this week so had a go again! :D

Thank you for all the inspiration you are giving me! Would be lost without you, honest! Keep going!

Materials:
PP: Cosmo Cricket Everafter
Cardstock: Core'dinations pre-distressed
Stamps: Joanna Sheen & Magnolia
Wings: Heidi Swapp (...I think)
Stickles: Ice Gold & Black Diamond
Ric-rac, twill, charm & pearls from my stash

Mojo Monday Week 79

As usual I loved the Mojo Monday sketch, they are so clean and stylish! Design Team had created some wonderful cards so I decided to have a go as well!

This was meant to be a very quick card as I was pretty tired and it was late but the paper-piecing took quite a bit longer than I anticipated.

Here's the result, looks pretty simple:

My feeble attempt at more masculine card :D

Materials used:
Papers: MM Paperie
Fiskars border punch
Half-pearls from Ebay
Stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms and Doodle Factory

So green!

Whiff of Joy challenge for this week is to make a card in green.

I resisted an urge to make little dreamy girls face and hair green as well, other than that it's ...well, green. Very much so.

Or as my beloved husband remarked - "It's green alright...".

Still experimenting my Prismacolour pencils, have a lot to learn but I really like working with them!

It's an unusual card for me since it doesn't have many layers but I found Prima PP with die-cut aperture which fitted the image perfectly.

So I just went to town with Stickles!

Materials used:
Cardstock: Core'dinations
PP: Prima Peaches

Stamps: WOJ and Cornish Heritage Farms (Kim Hughes)

Flowers: Flora Doodles & Prima

Ribbon: Poppicrafts (their ribbons are great quality and very reasonably priced)

Lace and threads from my stash.

Stickles (Eucalyptus, gorgeous gentle green shade, just discovered it recently and can see myself using it a lot.)

Button: Basic Grey

Flowersoft (I think it was Sweet Pea I used)

Thanks for looking!

Animals are people too

Our wonderful postman bought me adorable Doodle Factory stamps. Of course I had to have a go right away. Isn't that narky kitty just soooo cool!

Loved Mojo Monday sketch for this week and I think it worked with a card quite well!

I HAD to use that bear inside as well ... just because I wanted to colour it in :D

Materials:
Cardstock: Core'dinations
PP: DCWV Green Stack
Stamps: Doodle Factory
Images coloured with Prismacolour pencils, blended with Sansador & paper stumps
Ribbon: Poppicrafts
Dew Drops from Robins Nest

Crafting with kids

That was the challenge this week on 2 Sketches 4 U.

Well, I only have two, one is 3-years old and another 6 months so I wisely picked the one who's out of nappies.

We have made cards before but that usually involves plastering a lot of stickers onto a sheet of paper and pronouncing it a card.

This time we sat down and picked everything out together. I helped him to glue down the paper and hold the sticky ribbon straight (well, kinda :D). He chose the rooster from pack of Martha Stewart chipboard animals and put the foam dots on all on his own.

I had to show him which way around to put letters om though! :D

So here's the young crafter Cillian:
And here is his work of art, which had to be given to Nana so fast I barely got a chance to take a photo!
I was very tired last night so only had energy to make a very fast card. I used Lily Bee papers since they were out already from my last project. I loved that sentiment from sheet of Pink Paislee rubons, so built the card around it.

Materials used:

Bazzill Kraft cardstock embossed with Sizzix texture plates, Lily Bee papers.

Fiskars border punch, Pink Paislee flower and rub-ons.

Ribbon is from Poppycrafts.

Hmmm... not sure

I received my Mosh-Posh kit in mail yesterday and was quite hesitant after opening it. It features new name on the block Lily Bee and their 3 Little Birds papers. Which are kinda cute, but I wasn't so sure if it was entirely my thing.

As usual in those cases I set more appealing papers aside and decided to try out the awkward ones right away.

One thing I really liked about that line is that they feature a sheet of die-cut 6'' mats. I decided to use one of those (pale blue circle) and pretty much built the card around it.

I chose a cutesy image from one of my fave stamp companies, Bildmalarna. I think they are fairly new but oh so cute and a joy to colour in. Used my new Whispers brush markers for colouring, result isn't too bad at all.

Then I dug out a recipe from this weeks Daring Cardmakers challenge and stuck to it. Love recipes, they give me good limitations and therefore reduce my time rooting around in stash looking for something I fancy.

The recipe was:
3 different papers
At least one piece of chipboard
At least 1 button
At least 1 piece of ribbon
optional: 1 extra item/element of your choice

I am still not sure if like Lily Bee papers but can certainly work with them.

Materials used:
Cardstock: Core'dinations pre-distressed vintage card.
Papers: Lily Bee 3 Little Birds
Colouring mediums: Whispers markers, metallic rubons, Pebeo Touch 3D paint, Ranger crackle paint, Memento Tuxedo Black & Rich Cocoa ink pad.
Main Image; Bildmalarna, sentiment - not sure, I think it's Technique Tuesday.
Button - American Crafts.
Flowers, chipboard vine, pins & twine all from my stash.

That's what happens when you colour image first...

...and then go rooting with papers to match. Took me ages before I remembered K & CO Mira stash and it's sad existense in the bottom of my drawer.

I used the sketch from Cute Cards Thursday to put everything together.

The result COULD blind you and/or invoke an epileptic attack, but hey, the colours work well together, ok!

That flower I put together for entirely different project, then decided that it doesn't work there at all, it's been floating around my craft table and annoying me for a while. Now I have found a perfect place to dump it. Finally. Phew.

Image is coloured using Prismacolour pencils with Sansador & blending stamps.

I wouldn't be surprised if my next project involved Whispers markers since Mr Postman brought those today ... what a nice guy.

Ok, Here's the card. Bright alert!

Materials used:
Stamps: Sugar Nellie, Aud Designs, Cornish Heritage Farms.

Papers: K & Co Mira

Fancy Pants ribbon, Bazzill tulle. Flowers from Poppycrafts & my stash. Pearl - Papermania. Brad from my stash.

Fiskars border punch.

My Prismas are here!

Woo-hoo! Straight from the wild and wonderful Americaland they popped up on my doorstep this week.

I've been wanting to play with them for a LONG time and after waiting all that time I still had forgotten to get blending stumps ... so another couple of days of delay (which gave me some time to sharpen all 120 pencils, still have a blister to show for it ... ouch).

BUT Yesterday I finally had all the supplies and happily inked up a 'lil butterfly chaser boy from Magnolia spring kit. I think he's totally adorable, the whole kit is sooo yummy this time around!

I have a lot of practicing to do with my Prismacolour pencils but I like the soft blended results.

The card itself is for Friday Sketchers challenge (and for my mother in law, oops).

Used K & Co Wild Saffron stack which I've bee hoarding for a while, I think it really works well here!
Materials used:

Main image: Magnolia

Memento Tuxedo Black stamp pad & Prismacolour pencils, metallic rub-ons.

K & Co Wild Saffron papers.

Sentiments: Melissa Frances rub-on & Aud Design stamp.

Signo Uniball white pen for faux stitching.

BIG bling card

The challenge in Sugar Bowl this time around is to make something you KNOW your mother is going to love.

Weelll, I KNOW my Mom likes big and sparkly, so out came BIG bling.

OK, so maybe it's not the most subtle card around and maybe it's not exactly the most tasteful one either. In fact, it might even be called tacky, feel free to do so.

But my Mom will LOVE it. Wasn't that a point?

Besides, I actually happen to adore those lovely fabric flowers. Pretty-pretty-pretty. True, they would have looked nicer with cute lil' pearls or brads but did I mention my Mom incidentally? And her affection for BIG bling?

Oh, I did, you say. Repeatedly, you say.

Oops, I say. I better bugger off and leave you with a card.

Erm - before I do, I'll have to give credit to GORGEOUS talented Dawne Ivey from 2 Sketches 4 U whose sketch I used. Lovely layout, tanks a lot Dawne.

Ta!

Materials used:

Image coloured with ProMarkers.

Flowers from Dunnes, All papers MM Flower Patch, cardstock Bazzill. Bling, twine, 3D paint and stickers from my stash.

Weird tendencies in Casa Messy

Now this is becoming a wee bit unsettling.

Once again I set out to make a card with a VERY clear idea in my head about how it should look like.

And of course ended up with something utterly different.

I suspect a crafting poltergeist or forces of cosmic misfortune or something in these lines.

Anyways, the card is for 2 Sketches 4 U challenges and for once I actually followed Lauras sketch quite precisely ... or that's what I think.

Sigh.

Oh yes, and due to the baba howling I didn't have enough time to take a better picture. Sorry.

Papers are DCWV Garden Party, Cardstock Bazzill, rub-on Melissa Frances, stamps Bildmalarna (adore their stuff!) and lace from my stash.

I HAVE started on bonus sketch as well and might even finish it in this decade if the stars are right.

Double sigh.

Ooohhh, it just keeps all going wrong

It's almost ironic that I decided to try my hand with Mojo Monday sketch since my mojo has been kickin up quite a fuss lately.

Things just ain't working out.

But I persevere (she says bravely, wind blowing in her last-groomed-3-months-ago-hair).

I managed to get everything wrong with this card. Dimensions, proportions, stamps and even the sketch, for Heavens sake.

But I'll post it anyways as a warning example to all of those (that means YOU) who take their mojo for granted.
Used DCWV Sweet stack, Bazzill cardstock, Sakura pens, Robin's Nest Dew Drops. Ribbon is Making Memories, button Basic Gray. Stamps are both from Tanda Stamps.

Kazan's sketch on 365 Cards

I was really excited to see Kazan's sketch on 365 Cards. I love 2 Sketches 4 U and all of Kazan's and Laura's work.

But let me tell you I struggled big time. I think my mistake was picking out Prima Peaches stack, for some reason it never works for me but this time I was determined to go through with it.

Well, it took me two evenings of putting all together and tearing everything apart again. I am still not 100% happy with the card, but it's miles better than my first attempts!

Papers all from Prima Peaches stack, Sentiment K&Co, cardstock from Bazzill & Papermania, black pearls from Papermania, ribbon from Poppicrafts & Joanna Sheen, butterfly & 3D paint from my stash.

Good intentions etc

Well, I started out armed with a sketch from Friday Sketchers. I had the card ready in my head, it was all very clen and simple with minimum embellishments and letting patterned paper to shine.

I DON'T think it quite worked out for me though cause here's the final result:
Simple, non-fussy and elegant it is NOT! Quite cute in it's own messy lets-pile-on-as-many embellies-as-we-can-fit way though.

And to make sure it would get even fiddlier I decorated inside as well.
Papers used are from Making Memories Mocha, Poolside & Rouge. Stamps are from Sugar Nellie, Fiskars and Inkidinkado, Flowers from Prima, Poppicrafts and Kaiser. Corners are Cuttlebug dies, flourishes BossKut dies.

Of course there's a lot of Stickles and dimensional paint involved. Ribbon, lace and brads from my stash, gemstones from Kaiser.

all things bright and circular

It's Saturday and I'm blog-hopping.

Ok, so I do it every day, that's beside the point!

The POINT is that I stumbled upon new (cool) challenge blog called 365 Cards. And they have challenge up DAILY and I'm NEVER gonna be able to keep up with that but I'll have a try with todays one. Which is Shape up - Circle.

I didn't make a circular card but I managed something with a lot of circles and circular things on it...here it comes - the I Don't know What I'm Gonna Use It For But I Kinda Like It Card:

Here's a bit of a different view, as usual I couldn't resist decorating all 4 sides, not a very time-efficient way of making cards but somehow more satisfying.I used some Pink Paislee Vintage Moon paper which I received in one of my monthly kits yonks ago but wasn't really quite sure about. Works really well here, actually. Cardstock is from Bazzill, also used one of their Just The Edge strips (which I glittered first, I could glitter anything that stands still long enough).

Cakes are cut from K & Co. Cut and Paste paper, tag inside is Fancy Pants. Ribbon is also Fancy Pants, methinks. Don't remember where I got the sentiment stamp from.

Also used Stickles, Glossy Accents, Prima sparkly flower centre, Nestabilities circles and a Cuttlebug folder.

Thanks for looking!

Hopping on one leg, squealing

Woo-hooo, there's lace and pearls challenge on Magnolia Vs Stampavie this week.

Here comes a woman with SERIOUS lace addiction issues. The saddest thing is I love it SO much I'm kinda reluctant to use it so the pile just GROWS. Huge box full of fluffy loveliness
and not much to show for it.

So thank you-thank you-thank you for making me to dig into my hoard and pull out someting!

Here it is, cutesy Tilda with glittery flowers:

I guess you can see glitter better here:

And here's a different angle:

Papers are mainly K & Co. Cut and Paste, LOVE that stack. Some Baby Girl mat stack thrown in as well. Cardstock good old Bazzill, button Basic Grey, lace and pearls from my stash. Also used Stickles and Tim Holtz ticket.

Thanks for looking!

What better way to start - 2 Sketches 4U challenge

I have been stalking 2 Sketches 4 U for a long time and used their sketches on several occasions. I find that blog really inspirational, Laura and Kazan have amazing talent and design team is always out of this world!

Yesterday I remembered about my aunts birthday and had to throw someting together fairly quick, bearing in mind it had tobe quite traditional and very PC. Don’t we all have one of THESE aunts!

As usual in emergencies I headed to 2S4U and used their sketch … gotta admit VERY loosely this time, but hey, I was sleepy, alrite. And baby kept waking. As a result I am not particularly happy with the card. It's more so one of those “that’ll do” cases.

Kazan’s sketch 21:

And here's what I did with it:

A bit of a different angle:

Hmmm. Not sure it’ll qualify.

Oh well. Gotta start someplace.
