Getting warmed up

The challenge at Stampin' For the Weekend is just that - getting warmed up. I love how some of the DT have actually used very summery images!

I decided to go with that gorgeous wrapped-up lil' lady by Crissy Armstrong. It is a rubber stamp called Valerie's Gift from Whimsy Stamps.
The colouring was done with Copics (colours listed below). Sentiment is from LOTV and these leaves are a stamp from Tanda Stamps, I cut them out and sponged with Vintage Photo. The background papers are from Fancy Pants.
The ribbon is actually a torn strip of gingham fabric. Mirror snowflakes (that are reflecting my chubby fingers) are from Papermania, I just glued some pearls on to add a bit of interest. And the white flowers are cut from white upholstery fabric with Marianne's Creatables dies. And things are dire indeed because I managed to somehow loose the smaller flower die amongst my mess and can't bloody find it any more and IT'S MY FAVORITE FLOWER DIE!!!

Weeping here.

Copic colours:
Skin: E000/00/21/11/13, R02/24/22/59
Hair: E49/57/55/, Y32
Gift bag: E57/33/53
Boots: E18/17/15/13/11
Hat, Gloves, tights: YG99/93/91/63, BG96
Jacket:BG75/72/02
Yellows: Y28/26/32, YR31, E13
Fence: E49/47/33/30

I think you must craft in heaps as I do,moving from one clear spot to another leaving chaos behind me and spending almost as long looking for elements I've scattered around whilst deciding what to place. Do I sense a change in blog name to the tidiest crafter ever??????? lol something tells me not! stay exactly as you are, your cards are amazing!!!! Hugs,Julie.x

I hope you find your die, I know exactly how you fell. the ones that really escape me turn up on the bottom of a paper package, I hardly ever look on the bottoms of things.

Jeepers Annika, girl I don't know how you do it but you amaze me every time!! Look at that face you coloured, it's like a little painting! Wowie! I'm your fan LOL!!! Thanks for your sweet words on my blog, I was sooo frustrated with that prize thing. I mean, what's the point of making a worldwide challenge when people outside the USA can't 'cash' their prize?! It's just plain stupid! Anyhow, you have a lovely weekend hun, hugs, Frea

This is a gorgeous card and I love the mix of embellishments you added - a lot of texture and a great variety. You coloring, of course, is fantastic - great details in depth. I like the shadows on the edges of the smile and started to do that on mine where possible. It's harder than it looked - at first mine were way to big/dark and I had to blend it out! Good think I was using Zoe's cardstock or I don't think it would have worked.

Best wishes with you and your family. *hugs*

P.S. Thanks for playing along in the Lollipop Craft Challenge this week. :D
