Phindy's Challenge - Flowers

This week at Phindy's Challenge we are all to use flowers on our cards. That's it. As simple as that.
The image I've used this time was a case of "I saw. I squealed. I bought." It's a totally new character of Phindy called Lulu. Isn't she just way swanky!!!???

I wanted the card to glow with sun and warmth and happiness. The moment I got my hands on OA Fly A Kite paper I KNEW where I was going to use them!

The image was colored with Copics and prettied up with Sakura glitter and glaze pens. And some of my brand new Ultra Fine Flower Soft. Yummy stuff!

Background for Lulu was a bit of an experiment. I used Color Box chalk inks and stippling brush. And you know - I kinda like the result!

Lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts and ribbon from SEI. All the sewing is done by hand (why oh why did have I got so much into it ... bloody takes ages!).
The flowers are all from different sources - burlap flower is Prima, cord flower Maya Road and tiny crochet ones from Wild Orchid Crafts, the leaves from American Crafts. That cute butterfly is from Jenny Bowlin, it has Soda Water written on it's wings, mwahahahaa.

Sentiment stamps are from MFT.

Inside I carried on the same theme and also used my Fiskars Circle border punch which I had kinda forgotten... Then, since I had totally run out of
Now go on, hop over to Phindy's Challenge blog and feast your eyes on the gorgeous creations of design team - and then make a card! You know you want to!

This week we also have a guest designer on board - welcome to fabulous Rhonda!

Isabella's Challenge - for Mom

Hi! I am very excited today - it's my first card for Isabella's Challenge. This week we are all creating cards for Mom - it doesn't have to be for Mother's Day,  just something for mother.

Well, of course I had to color up this Mother's Little Helper image the moment I saw it!

I used Copics for coloring and Sakura pens for highlighting. The bowl was covered in Crackle Accents and the chocolate fudge cake batter (yes, I KNOW what she's bakin'. I'm talented like that.) in the bowl with Glossy Accents.

The gorgeous dp is from MME. Yeah, nothing new here. It's NOT from Quite Contrary collection though, so there! :p

The bow is not ribbon though, it's actually a stuff that's meant for knitting but I thought it looked fabulously vintagey. Then I made a lace flower to sit on top and sprayed it with Cosmic Shimmer sparkle mist. The gems are from Prima.

The sentiment stamp is from Little Paper Shop and image is cut with me Nesties Labels. Loving Nesties. And I have a scary collection! And of course a punch from MS. Gotta love them!

All in all I'm quite happy with the card, maybe I should have used solid card for matting but I think busy mish-mash of patterns kinda works on this card.

Now that I've shown off my goods you are perfectly free to head to Isabella's Challenge blog and look at all the gorgeous work the rest of DT has come up (makes me cower in shame all that talent, it does!). And then get yourself some Isabella art and get crackin', we WANT to see your wonderful creations! Pleeeaaaase!

Isabella also has a freebie available on the blog so you can "try before you buy"!

I would like to enter that card into following challenges:

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp - flowers

Stamptacular Sunday - Celebration for Moms

Cute Card Thursday - Make Your Own

Digital Tuesday - A Toast To You

The Pink Elephant - Mommy, I Love You!

Double Dutch - Mum's The Word

NOT a quick card

But I had An Idea.

When I first noticed that image in Isabella's store, I remembered a poem I had heard once. So I rooted the web, found the poem and then of course had to get an image and make a card! lol

I wanted the sleeping kitten on the cushion of lace and leaves so I ruffled all the edges of the card with lace trim and die cut some leaves with Sizzix dies.

I found a die-cut paper from Lily Bee and painted it all over with Cosmic Shimmer Angel Gold iridescent paint, in real life if has lovely subtle glimmer and texture which camera did not catch!

Then I (painstakingly) sew beads all around the paper.

The frame for the image was made with Nesties and covered with Crackle Accents. The image was coloured with Copics and then I decided I wanted a slightly ages look so tried to smudge the writing ever so slightly. Might have gone overboard there. Hmmm

The flowers were made from lace trim and embellished with Papermania pearls.
Then I added vintage glass glitter to all the edges and leaves and finally put the card together.

It was fun-to-do card. Don't know if I'll ever actually find an occasion to use it but sometimes you need to make things just for the sake of making them.

Don't forget there's still a bit time to submit your project to Isabella's Challenge, this week Anything Goes, as long as you use Isabella's image!

I would like to enter this card into following challenges:

The Shabby Tea Room - Glitter

Quixotic Challenge - How Distressing!

Allsorts Challenge - Animals

Papertake Weekly - Do something Different

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp - Flowers

and more- Distressing

Totally Gorjuss - In Stitches

Crafty Cardmakers - Distressed

A Spoon Full Of Sugar
- Furry Friends

Tanda Teaser - Paws for Thought

A quick card

Well, relatively so, I am a painfully slow crafter.

The image of Dad dancing with a baby girl (Phindy, of course), is a very usual sight in our house.
My husband is a brilliant father and the most caring, loving person you could imagine.

So there's no particular reason for this card, I just wanted to tell him how much I appreciate him. So I made this card for our little daughter to give him. :)

The card is very simple, just MME papers, some card candy, letter stickers and felt star from MM and a rub-on from 7 Gypsies.
The image itself is coloured with Copics, cut out with Nesties labels and sponged with Distress inks (Antique linen and Frayed Burlap)

The sketch is from Moving Along With The Times.

Don't forget to enter Phindy's Challenge - it's Use Favorite Phindy Image this time!
I would like to enter following challenges:

Pile It On - Boy Colors
Sentimental Sunday - For that Special Someone
KL Stamping and Scrapping - finished inside as well
Digi Doodle - Anything Goes
Oh Alice - Card for a child (well, I MADE it for DD, she was to give it to my beloved)
Play Date Cafe - colors
Thanks for looking and happy crafting!

Comfy or what?

That image from Phindy was literally talking to me. As a mother of two smallies, I know all two well a value of a dropped-half-dead anywhere nap, lol.
I coloured the image with Copics and Prismacolor pencils. Reasonably happy with the result. Card itself I'm not entirely sure about but not bad enough to dunk me into oceans of despair and shame, lol.
The sentiment is Shirleys2Girls.

Papers are from Cosmo Cricket, ribbon from Poppicrafts (which is now sadly going out of business), lace and bling from my stash.
I distressed the papers with scissors, used a bit of paper piercing and painted edges slightly with Cosmic Shimmer Angel Red Shimmer Paint. A little flower on top of the knot is a fabric sticker from Papermania.

The sketch is from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

I would also like to enter following challenges:
Stampavie and More - Distressing
Quixotic Challenges - Distressing

Don't forget our challenge at Phindy's Place this week. VERY difficult - use your favorite Phindy image. Lets see you try! My head almost exploded!
