You have a permission to laugh uncontrollably

You see, when I first started paper crafting couple of years ago I mainly dabbed my hand at collage and Tim Holtzy-stuff.

So when my friend needed a card for her bosses retirement he asked me to "do something you used to do, you know, before you went all artsy"!!

Erm.

OK.

So 3 days of hair pulling, meddling and messing later, that's what she ended up with.

My craft room floor is still crunchy with all the UTEE and I tend to find random globs of dried matte medium in dark corners of my desk. The whole thing is done with canvas and grungeboard and glimmer-misted, painted, frayed and embossed into total oblivion.

It's actually a tri-fold card but you can't see it on the picture.

I know it's a totally feeble attempt at mixed medium project but hey, I DID try!! lol AND my friend liked it, which is probably a main thing!

I would like to enter it into Simon Says Stamp And Show challenge which is "numbers" this week. Sorry, girls, for putting my botched-up mess next to your gorgeous work! It also qualifies for Stamptacular Sundays challenge which is "layers".

Oh, and I almost forgot to let you know that 7 Kids College Fund has now new Sarah Kay and Kraftin Kimmie images in stock. If you buy ANY Kraftin Kimmie stamp before Oct 11th you get 10% off if you use a code KRAFTIN!

Thanks for looking and happy crafting!
Hugs

Hi Annika - well, yes, I am laughing but definitely not laughing at your amazing card - I am laughing at your wonderful story - you are FAR too modest!! I absolutely love the card and you should be proud of yourself - I wouldn't know where to begin placing all those gorgeous elements together. Love the gold theme, the swirls, the UTEE - all of it!!

I'm not laughing, I swear! :-) No, I thik you did a nice job and you followed instructions and gave your friend what they wanted so thats a happy customer right there! I definately know what you mean about the UTEE! I buy it by the jug! Hahaha I actually like the Tim Holtz grunge look and I use it a fair bit on my ATCs and collage work. I was just saying to my friend Stacey that its like I have two personalities, One for my cards (clean& crisp, happy colors) and one for my altered art: distressed, grungeed and weird! lol well this is a long comment!

Hi! Annika, WOW WOW WOW such a masterpiece. I laugh at the description of your floor and table, that sounds familiar to me! but, I admire this magnificent card. All the work you invested to created this beauty. It is so well put together, lovely colors, al the glitter and the thicknesses, the crackled glass technique, so nicely done. AND the layers... may I invited you to play along with us at Stamptacular for our Layer-it-on challenge this week, your card is perfect for our theme!

Holy crap, girlie, I think this is spectacular, my kind of mouth-watering art. I haven't been on my reader yet today, but I was looking through the thumbnails over at SSSS and saw this. I clicked on it without realizing it was yours. I love it - the color palette, the UTEE, the canvas - all perfect. Now quit your whining and tell us the truth - didn't you have fun messing around with it? :)

Hugs,
Linda

Annika, you are sooooo critical of yourself! This is a fab piece of artwork, and I love it! I could have done with a laugh, but sorry - no uncontrollable laughing here, just jaw dropping awe!
Sorry for the lapse in communication over the summer. Drop me an email and we'll arrange to catch up! Hope all is good with you right now!
