Stamp Something - Digi Day

Hooray, it's Digi Day again at Stamp Something and I got to play with this gorgeous image from Prairie Fairy.

I do love the image and am reasonably OK with the Copic work but I have to admit that I absolutely hate that card. You see, I saw a gorgeous sketch at Mojo Monday and decided to try it out and everything just went downhill from there. (sulks)

There are bits I like about it though - the burgundy gingham I finally hunted down (expect to see it a lot, I bought 4 yards!), bakers twine (love of my life, don't tell hubby) and the frosted branches under the poinsettia (which went horribly wrong).

I made these branches with tacky glue, floral wire and a new cool Silver Flower Soft. It's absolutely gorgeous and MUCH cooler irl than on the photos!!

In short, there's a lot of elements about that card that I love but the overall result totally sucks!

Now, I'm still gonna enter some challenges:
Stampin' Royalty - ribbons
Wild Flower Patch - twine
Cinema Saturday - something hand cut or die cut
Flutter By Wednesdays - Open
Creative Card Crew - Fairy Tales
Bah Humbug - Elegance
Fussy and Fancy - Winter Wonderland

Thanks for looking and happy crafting!

Well the colouring and sparkling rocks..... the gingham ribbon is just divine and the twine is delish! But your flower and frosted branches are the star of the show.... GORGEOUS!!!

It's a treasure. You should keep it on your workstation. There are so many elemants in it that you love and I think you spent quite some time on this card. And in the end you will have some of that gorgeous gingham ribbon for yourself :)

Stella

You are way too hard on yourself! The coloring is great! I saw that sketch and could not wrap my head around it. It was hard, but you did it perfectly! I recently brought out my mistakes too. I think we are the only ones that notice.

I think its the image that stinks. (not your coloring , but the image itself.) Everything else is wonderful! I love your gingham ribbon and twine and everything else. And you put alot of work into the image. The wings are fab! And the image isn't horrible, just strange. ( I hope I'm not stepping on any toes....cringe..)Do you know what I mean?

The card is just gorgeous Annika. I know how you feel but sometimes because we are so close to a project the things we are not keen on glare out to us, but usually not to anyone else as the above comments prove.
So cut the moaning and move on to the next one.......thats me being stern.......lol
Have a great weekend my little friend, Annette xx

Hey Annika,
Ellie here again, just saw on a comment that you wondered if coloursoft are the same as prismas. They do in fact are very similar. I have tons of prismas (maybe all of them or close to), but these seem to have more color pigments that's what I like better about them. And there are only 72 colors in total, a negative things for some but for me it's great because I always can't decide on what color to use if I have too many to choose from LOL.

LOL - we are always our own worst critic. I really like this card - such a gorgeous coloring job on that image. I have trouble with the deep folds on clothing and you have done that perfectly. I like the double row of scallops at the top too, and am drooling over that gingham ribbon! Hope you have warmed up to this one by now!

Hugs,
Linda
