I got to choose the image from Digi Doodles - they have loads of very detailed images there but since I should really start thinking about my Crimbo card list, I picked a nice snowy landscape.
The image was printed on pearlescent paper, heat embossed and then coloured with Copics, TRYING to achieve a bit watercoloury look. I have to say it looks a lot better irl, the sheen of paper was really interfering with taking photos and a lot of subtler detail like slight reflection of the sunset colours on snow, are lost. :( I will list the marker codes further on though.
I added some vintage glass glitter to the trees and ground for a bit more texture and sparkle.
Because the landscape images need a bit more setting off I chose to have a very clean structured layers with paper piercing for extra definition. I carried the theme of shimmery papers throughout.
The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps. I liked the font, so delicate and elegant.
All I added then was some clear gems and a statement ribbon and bow which I frayed slightly to soften the lines of card.

Wowzer Annika - this is totally gorgeous! The texture of the pearlised paper gives the whole thing a glorious wintry sheen. The traditional Xmas image is so beautiful - I absolutely LOVE this card!!!

Ohh I love that sunset!! And really, you did an awesome job with the light colors on that snow - with that plus the sky it really looks like watercolors. Even though the rest of the elements are darker, I love the contrast it provides! What's the fun in coloring if you can't add the depth?!? Same problem on this end - especially when I start with the darkest color I don't leave enough room for the lights. However, I just got all the 0000 colors and hope that will help lighten things up... those practically look like white already! :D

This is so very elegant!! I love how you used the shimmery paper and than how you kept it consistent with the entire card - I can only imagine how beautiful it is irl. How you cut around the image also really makes such a statement - what an incredible idea and how well it works for this image. Very stunning!!!
